Governors

The Governing Body works closely with the Headteacher to ensure that the school is meeting its statutory duties and supports the Headteacher to improve the outcomes for all the pupils. This means that they spend some time in school talking to staff and children about the things that they are doing and ask how effective these activities are and whether they could be improved. They are responsible for agreeing the budget for the school and monitoring how effective school spending is at raising attainment and achievement for all children.

Governors are responsible for helping to provide an environment in which a good quality education can be delivered. Governing Bodies meet each term and rely on committees to advise their decisions. Our Governing Body is made up of parents, past parents, members of the local community and members of the wider community who are appointed to the governing body by the Local Authority. In order to ensure the Governg Body is effective we have three committees to look at various areas within the school. Committees address issues such as staffing, finance, curriculum and premises.
