School Aims and Achievements

Gosfield Community Primary School serves the community of Gosfield village in north Essex and the surrounding area. We are proud of our school and place a special emphasis on our relationship with the parents and the wider community.

The link between home and school is of vital importance, and we welcome and encourage parents to become involved in the life of this happy village school.

At Gosfield Community Primary School we seek to nurture each child’s talents and abilities, but still encourage a strong team spirit where we work, play and share experiences together. The staff and governors aim to provide a stable and secure environment within which every child can develop and flourish.

Our Key Stage 2 achievements

In 2015 we celebrated our best Key Stage Two results in over five years with 100% of children making two levels progress in reading and writing and 95% in Maths. 50% of children made three levels progress in reading, 50% in writing and 53% in Maths. We were also thrilled to see 95% of our children attaining level 4 in Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling and 84% achieved a level 5.

Our celebrations continued into 2016 where our year 6 pupils performed above both Essex and National standards in many subjects in the first SATs under the new National Curriculum. A fantastic 68% met the new, higher standard in reading and writing, 79% met expected standards in maths and a fantastic 89% met the expected standard in the new grammar, punctuation and spelling test.
