Hello everybody!

I hope you have all enjoyed another week of home learning. It has been lovely hearing from you and seeing all the exciting things you have been getting up to. I too have been working from home most days with Moustache keeping me company! The weather has been a little unpredictable this week, nevertheless I have been going for walks every day, even when it has been raining! I can never resist jumping in a good puddle, can you? It has been lovely to hear that many of you are going for nature walks too. I miss you all everyday and love hearing from you. You can contact me anytime, even if it is just for a chat. Keep sending me updates of what you are up to. I will speak to you all very soon!

Miss Williamson 😊

Summer Term Week 3 - 04/05/20

Daily Expectations

Work to be completed daily:

  1. Reading: Remember to continue to read at least 5 times per week and get your diary signed each time by an adult. You can read any text you like – not only reading books.
  2. Practise times tables using TT Rockstars: I have updated your TT Rockstar accounts based on your last Times Table score. If you have been practising and are ready for the next times table, let me know and I will adjust it on your TT Rockstar account for you.
  3. Spellings: Now that you have had enough time to revise the Year 3 and 4 statutory spellings list, I have uploaded your targeted weekly spellings for the next 4 weeks of the Summer term. Please practise these using the methods I have shown you in class and ask an adult to test you each Friday.

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter break and enjoyed the glorious sunshine we had during those last few days! I have uploaded some English and Maths activities for you starting Monday 20th April. The English work will pick up from where you left off before the Easter break with the History Hackers Roman Rescue. If you have not already downloaded the full story, scroll down the website page to find the pdf titled ‘History Hackers: Roman Rescue’ to access all chapters of the book. For maths, follow the links and watch the tutorials to help you complete the activities set by white rose. If you have any questions, please get in touch. If you want to share anything with me, need help with something or even if you just want to say hello, please do! I check my emails daily and love hearing from you. Keep up with your TT rockstars and daily reading. Remember to take time for yourself to relax, exercise and most importantly have fun!

I miss you all very much and hope you liked the picture of Moustache!

School closure Wellbeing

If arts and crafts are your thing...then get busy with these Easter/Spring themed activities. Be creative and have lost of fun! (Even if it's not your thing...have a go, you might surprise yourself!).

Hi Everyone,

Below is some RE work; a booklet telling the Story of Holy Week, and explaining what Christians believe about Easter.  This work is OPTIONAL. If you choose to do it, you will find  some fun activities that you can get your whole family involved in. We would love to see some photographs of you doing an activity, or of the work you produce. Enjoy!

RE (optional) - All About Easter

At school, children are asked to use a variety of strategies to deepen their understanding of a maths problem. They are asked to 'build it' (if the appropriate resources are available), 'draw it' (using arrays or other pictures to represent the problem), 'write it' (using digits and symbols such as,  x, +, -, =, <, > to represent the calculations needed), and 'explain it' (telling someone about your building, drawing and writing and what it represents to help you solve the problem). To show a solid understanding you could ask your child/children to show you in a different way. Try to ask them questions about the problem such as "How many steps does the problem have?" or "Which operation (add, subtract etc) do you need to complete the problem?" Remember to remind your child/children that mistakes are often useful learning steps to reaching a final solution.

Good morning,

Below are some English based activities to have a go at over the Easter period. There are also some resources to accompany the activities. If you have any questions about the activities, please email the school and a member of the KS2 team will answer your query.

Stay safe and well.

Week 2 - Class 3 & 4 Home learning (w/b 30th March)

Try two activities per week if possible.

Try two activities per week if possible. 1
Hi, hope you are all keeping safe and well. In the coming weeks work activities will be added to the website. We understand that juggling home schooling, your own work and keeping house is quite a challenge so do as much as you can with your child/children. As long as the fundamental basics are attempted regularly (e.g. Reading, Maths, English and Spellings) other subjects can fit in where possible. Here are some suggested science activities, some can be carried out physically, some are things to be discussed.

Home learning - week beginning 23rd March

Hi everyone! In the event of a school closure, we are wanting you to complete a few activities at home. As you know you should be always be reading daily. (http://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/) (https://www.freechildrenstories.com/It would be a good idea to practice the Year 3 & 4 common exception word list. I have included further documents for the children to work at home on. For daily maths, please use www.topmarks.co.uk to test your recall of number bonds, doubles and halves and times table facts. We look forward to seeing the results when you get back to school.
