I would like to offer you a warm welcome to Gosfield Community Primary School, a small village school which serves the children of Gosfield and the surrounding area.
We hope that our website gives you an insight into our aims, vision and ethos. Newletters are uploaded and these share some of the recent learning that has been undertaken by our enthusiastic and happy children.
We are a small school of 140 children, each intake being 20, and are proud of every one of them and their achievements. We work hard to provide a cross curricular approach to learning and believe that children learn by different experiences and through their own investigations, and this is supported within a safe and secure site.
We are fortunate to have very extensive grounds and have a well developed Nature Zone and Early Years area outside as well as our Reading Owl for children to read in.
Our children benefit from a large network of supportive parents and volunteers, the FRoGS (Friends of Gosfield Community Primary School) as well as enthusiastic governors that regularly visit the school and we have many other links within the village. In turn our children are learning their important role within society.
In 2015 we celebrated our best Key Stage Two results in over five years with 100% of children making two levels progress in reading and writing and 95% in Maths. 50% of children made three levels progress in reading, 50% in writing and 53% in Maths. We were also thrilled to see 95% of our children attaining level 4 in Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling and 84% achieved a level 5.
We hope your children enjoy their time with us.
Mrs Marianne Cartwright
