The David Degan Library- Officially Open

Our new wonderful library is officially open. It is much more than a beautiful space - it is a legacy. A legacy of kindness, generosity, and a lifelong belief in the power of reading. One of the things we remember most fondly about Mr Degnan was his love of hearing children read. He would sit with them, listen intently, and encourage them with his famous saying: “Read with me.” Those three words captured everything he stood for - togetherness, curiosity, and the joy of learning. He knew that reading opens doors, builds confidence, and helps children discover who they are and who they can become. Yesterday’s celebration felt like a perfect tribute to that spirit.
